It located at the point which splits the kuruwa region of Ninomaru Yashiki residence into east and west sections. The west of the Cherry Blossom Gate was called ‘Nishi no Kuruwa (the west section)’ and the east of the gate was called ‘Tounan no Kuruwa (the southeast section)’.

The gate stands facing south and was named after a big cherry blossom tree near the gate. Inside the northern gate, there were a square and a long aisle along the inner moat, and it was called ‘Sakura no Baba’ (cherry blossom hippodrome).

樱门将二之丸宅邸的城郭分为东西两处，门以西称为西郭，以东为东南郭。

门朝南而建，因旁边有一棵大的樱花树而得名。门内北侧沿内护城河有一广场和一条长长的路，这里被称为樱马场。

니노마루 저택의 구역을 동서로 나누는 위치에 있으며 벚꽃문에서 서쪽을 「서쪽 구역」, 동쪽을「동남쪽 구역」이라고 불렀습니다.

문은 남향이고 문의 이름은 문 옆의 큰 벚꽃 나무에 관련해 지어졌습니다.

북문에는 안쪽 해자를 따라 광장과 긴 통로가 있으며 사쿠라 노 바바 (벚꽃경마장)라고 불렀습니다.

二の丸屋敷の郭の東西を分ける位置にあり、桜門より西を「西の郭」、東を「東南の郭」と呼んでいました。

門は南向きに建ち、門名は傍にあった桜の大樹に因んでいます。北側門内には内堀に沿って広場と長い通路があり「桜の馬場」と呼んでいました。
